ABOUT ME

 

After  an unremarkable school experience where I was not expected to achieve any academic qualifications I was thrust into the world unqualified to do much except unskilled factory work.  Even in the early days of this unrewarding work I began to ask for changes to find a more fulfilling role

for myself and advanced to an administrative role. Not unlike many young women I gravitated from this to married life and children.

During this time, I needed a part time job to fit in with family life. My "light bulb" moment came after an appointment to get my nails manicured. Thinking to myself "I could do that", I set about finding out how to make it happen. A short course prepared me both in theory and practice, and I settled down again providing a service for family and friends.

Eventually they asked me to do other beauty treatments so my journey began to become a fully qualified beauty therapist. leading to me setting up my own business, The Beauty Spot.

​

Next was a chance meeting with a Reflexologist and Massage Therapist who knew of my ambition to understand more about how the human body works and this awoke a latent interest in knowing more about holistic therapies.

​

Gradually my practice moved away from the humdrum world of beauty therapy and into the fascinating world of health and wellbeing. From here I focused on qualifications that would prepare me to support people for whom age and stress and dysfunctional lifestyles had an impact on their health.
